Camps Bay
Camps Bay lies behind Table Mountain nestled between the Twelve Apostles and
Lion Head. Its stunning location and long, sandy white beach lined with palm
trees make it one of the most popular destinations within Cape Town. It is a
short drive over Kloof Nek to the city centre or along Victoria (Beach) Road
to Sea Point and the Water Front.

As well as being a popular residential suburb for locals Camps Bay is one of the
most popular destinations for Tourists to South Africa, with the beach often voted
as one of the most beautiful in the world. Luna Blanca offers one of only a few
beachfront properties in the area and so fantastic views of the Atlantic Ocean and
mountain and is within close proximity to the shops, bars and restaurants which
line the street across from the beach.
Camps Bay Shops
Most of Camps Bay's shops are found in one or two shopping centers on
the beachfront. In these you will find Pick ‘n Pay (full range of household
and food items), banks and ATMs, foreign exchange outlets, one or two
boutiques, a skin care Institute and optometrist. There is also a pharmacy
with an in-house doctor. For those with a sweet tooth Sinful has the most
amazing ice-creams. There is also a surf shop which sells a range of beach wear.
Camps Bay Restaurants
Camps Bay's central beach promenade is lined with plenty of cafes,
bars and restaurants. Most of these have outdoor seating areas from
which you can enjoy a meal or sip a cocktail while savoring the view
before you.
Theo's Grill (Steak and sea food), Codfather (Seafood), Paranga (Seafood),
Primi Piatti (Pizza and Pasta), Cape Town Fish Market (Seafood), The
Grand (sophisticated fusion), Bayside Cafe (sushi and mixed menu), Nando’s
(Portuguese fare)
For an evening with a little more culture head to the theatre at Theatre
on the Bay. There is also a bar and the Theatre Café where you can enjoy
a pre show drink and meal.
Most of these eateries provide take away opportunities providing for an
excellent meal while relaxing at home.
Camps Bay Bars
If you're after some somewhere to sip on cocktails or have a few drinks
with friends and enjoy the sunset, or party on later into the night there
are plenty of trendy bars to choose from. Barazza, Caprice, Ignite,
Sandbar, Dizzy Jazz Café. Also in the area is a new and happening nightclub,
Kharma, for those wishing to dance the night away, and return home with
just a little and safe stroll.
Camps Bay Beaches
The Camps Bay beach is perfect for sun bathing, walking and if you can
brave the cold water, a refreshing dip in the sea. There are plenty of
wide open spaces where you can play frisby or beach bats and volley ball
courts are often set up at the top of the beach where events are organized.
The beach does get very crowded in the tourist season and the road
running its length can become congested with traffic. If you are in walking
distance to the beach this is a better option than trying to park your car
close by. Luna Blanca offers parking away from the beach road, for
unobstructed getaway, should you wish to go to town or the winelands.
If you're wanting to surf, there is usually enough swell at Glen Beach (at
the end of Camps Bay beach towards Clifton) to catch a ride. At the opposite
end of Camps Bay beach is a salt water swimming pool where you can have a dip.
Also, not far from Luna Blanca is the protected Clifton, just a short stroll
away. So, if the wind is blowing Clifton offers four to five beautiful beach
alternatives to people watch and soak in the sun.
Camps Bay Sports
If you're keen to do a bit of hiking there are a number up walks within
close proximity to Camps Bay taking you to the top of Lion's Head or Table
Mountain or a just an easy stroll along a contour path half way up.
Tennis courts are available at the Camps Bay Lawn Club and If squash is your
game, courts are available at the Camps Bay Sports Club.
The area is perfect for taking a long vigourous cycle, or indeed walking or
running on the more than 10 km’s of promenade in front of Luna Blanca allows
you to join the locals in activity while taking in the breathless views of
the beaches.

Bay and 12 Apostles Hotels, which provide great opportunities to be spoilt
further.
